Arm Lift
A Brachioplasty or arm lift is a procedure in Athens that reshapes the under portion of the arm from the underarm region to the elbow by removing excess skin and fat. The incision length depends on the amount and location of the excess skin to be removed. Incisions are generally placed on the inside of the arm and may extend from the underarm (axilla) to just above the elbow. If fat is to be reduced during the procedure, it will be excised or treated with liposuction.
* Individual results may vary.

An arm lift focuses on eliminating excess sagging skin, tightening the upper arm’s underlying supportive tissue, as well as getting rid of small pockets of fat in the area. Good candidates for this surgery or are adults who:
- Have skin laxity in the upper arm
- Are not too overweight and have managed to maintain a stable weight
- In relatively good health
- Are optimistic and have realistic expectations
How Can I Prepare for Arm Lift Surgery?
You’ll receive all the details you need to make an informed decision about the procedure. You’ll also have to make changes to any medications you may be on and stop taking others that may increase bleeding. These include aspirin, herbal supplements, and anti-inflammatory medications.
What Does the Procedure Involve?
You will be administered general anesthesia for the surgery, which typically takes about 2 hours. Incisions will then be made on the inside of the arm and can extend from your underarm to your elbow. The supportive tissue will then be reshaped and tightened using internal sutures. Excess fat is usually excised or treated through the process of liposuction.
Results and Recovery
Although results can be seen immediately, it’s normal for there to be some swelling in the area immediately following your arm lift. You can take on more strenuous activity within 4 to 6 weeks of the surgery. How quickly you recover is dependent on a variety of factors. You’ll have to wear a compression garment after the surgery so that swelling is minimized and drainage tubes in your arm will help to drain out the excess blood and fluids.
