We recently received notification from Allergan, the BOTOX® Cosmetic company, that the FDA has sent warning letters to medical practices who are purchasing BOTOX® Cosmetic from foreign or unlicensed suppliers. Believe it or not, some physicians put profit ahead of patient safety by buying BOTOX® Cosmetic from illegal sources.
We here at Parker Plastic Surgery want you to know that we purchase our BOTOX® Cosmetic directly from Allergan, and Allergan has listed the following tips to make sure you’re getting authentic BOTOX® Cosmetic:
- See a reputable physician who purchases BOTOX® Cosmetic directly from Allergan or an authorized Allergan distributor.
- Request to see the package and vial of BOTOX® Cosmetic that the physician will use during your treatment.
- Check the package for a U.S. license number on the carton.
- The vial will have the “BOTOX® Cosmetic” logo and also have a hologram image that says Allergan.
